Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This policy describes the data handled by the current AfriVista beta. Do not use the service if you do not agree with this policy.
Data we handle
- Account information used by Firebase Authentication, including an email address when you create or link an email account.
- Profile settings such as display name, country or region and timezone when you choose to provide them.
- Learning records such as quiz attempts, Daily Challenge completions, points and streak state.
- Limited product events, such as a page or quiz being used. A random browser identifier is hashed on the server; analytics reject email addresses, free-text searches and quiz answers.
- Technical records needed for security and reliability, such as request identifiers, error details and server logs.
Why we use it
Data is used to provide sign-in, save learning progress, prevent duplicate rewards, protect the service, diagnose failures and understand whether core learning journeys work. AfriVista does not sell personal information or use the current analytics contract for targeted advertising.
Storage and service providers
The service uses Firebase for authentication and learning data, and Vercel to host the web application and server routes. A random analytics identifier is stored in your browser's local storage. These providers may process technical data needed to deliver their services under their own terms and security controls.
Your choices
You can clear local browser storage to reset the analytics identifier. Signed-in learners can change supported profile fields and request account deletion from Account Settings. Deletion requests are protected by recent reauthentication and may require operational follow-up before all retained records are removed.
Questions and requests
Use the guidance on the Contact and corrections page. Do not include passwords or other sensitive account details in a public report. A private privacy-contact address remains a required manual launch action.
